Have a quick loading website just make sure you do not have tons of stuff on one page. Meaning do not have 20 images and videos all on the same page. Do not try to have your whole site on one page etc..

Be careful how many images you have on the page. If you have too many or too large images, your site can slow down drastically. Downsize if you have to. While a fancy, good-looking site jazzed up by images may attract visitors, visitors might not want to visit any site that takes more than a minute or so to load, unless there is a good reason for them to wait so long.

Use low resolution images, fewer pictures, and re-size when necessary. Higher resolution photos can be easily re-sized with photo editing software. I usually do not wait to long for a site to load unless it is a professional photography website. The trade-off there is the loading time in exchange for seeing high quality/resolution photos.

All good recommendations. Watch your images and other media. If you run your own WordPress blog, you can also grab the WP-Cache plugin (there may be similar solutions for other software). It prevents the software from regenerating pages/accessing the database/etc. every time someone hits your site -- so the site is served up quickly (from the cached copy) rather than waiting for the server to create it.

Having a website load quickly is a bit more than just having less or smaller graphics. Your code makes a massive difference, even the language your site is developed in makes a difference. The way your queries is written and the design of your backend influences the speed. That is the reason a lot of developers prefer writing there code from scratch, that is the only way to get optimal performance

The best way to have a quick loading website is having lesser content on the front page..have as much text as u want coz it won't effect the speed but images and videos will take much time, so be careful of how many images you have on the front page.

It is kinda funny with all these advices on how to increase your loading speed. One site take so long I give up. Another takes 5+ minutes to load for a 56K modem. So, before you give advice, check the loading speed on your site first.... >> http://www.submitplus.com/freeloadtest.php
