SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. You have on page SEO for the SE's, which would require you to properly optimize the content/keywords of each individual site page. On page optimization would be required if your goal is a good SE placement within the SERP. Off page SEO is linking for your site, usually one way links pointing to your site to achieve a higher PR# for your site, to attract advertisers, sell links or sell ad space, etc.. But a PR# will not get your site a good position within the search engine results pages for your keywords/phrases. SERP stands for search engine results page. So whatever your main goal is for your site you would do the proper optimization for it.

| Quoted from: member_265637 on 2009-10-23 19:32:15 Sadly SEO is often overlooked by do it yourself website developers. If you are building a site, SEO should be a consideration for every aspect of the build. |
You are absolutely correct. SEO ( on page) should be done before you even publish your site. And then the SEO tweaking comes after that to keep up with the algo changes. Unfortunately most newbie webmasters do not realize that. They think just building a " beautiful" site is all that is necessary.

| Quoted from: member_261228 on 2009-10-30 07:57:10 Which are the best SEO available for free on the internet? |
Yourself !!!SEO is not hard. Just learn the " updated " basic's and implement it yourself ! That is as free as you can get. Do not listen to people that say you have to hire a specialist. And do not take advice from articles written years ago or from some outdated 1999 internet Guru !!!!! Just be informed and educate yourself. SEO is not rocket science !

Well, I have found very good informative posts here. Search Engine optimization is no doubt a big thing to understand but usually people think of it too much and don't concentrate on the content which is the most important thing related to improve your page rank which SEO does. |

I have found that SEO and content goes hand in hand, SEO is alot about keywords and key word density.Content is also alot about keywords and keywords density, content must be both interesting and efeective, not always and easy task.
