I agree that they should give us the option to report reviews, regardless of the rating the reviewer gave. I've gotten 10s that were nothing but useless spammy text. I also thought they automatically reviewed those ratings 5 and under, but I see no evidence of this. While I like the traffic results from LR, I'm not impressed with the site management. It's not what it says it will be.

This topic has been covered a zillion times. Just posting your name as a review is a no no. Take charge and report these spammy reviews to Mike (Admin) and ask that they be removed. Copy the offensive review along with the reviewer's url. Paste it in a email to Mike asking that this member be dealt with and his/her review be removed. The "Contact Us" link is the top of every LR page. In the meantime, place the review on private.

thank you for your comments on this and mary i have sent a email and guess what no response so that wont work so do you or anybody else have any ideas to how this can be solved because when i do a review i look and go through the website and i rate the page on how i feel about it and if i see a problem and give them a low rateing then i put why in the comment section thats how this is supposed to work or i thought it was

Because LR owners have decided that anyone can use LR, anyone can post what they want, and if you don't like it, well, there are other programs to use. I could care less what people write. It means squat. Zip. Nada. It's just an exercise for people to complete. That's it. LR should be 0.00001% of what you are doing to promote your site. Worry about the other 99% that actually matters.

doc maybe you dont understand what were talking about here if they dont like my site then fine but people shouldnt review a site that they didnt even look at in the comments section he just put my web sites name down when he shouldve put why he didnt like the site by putting my sites name in shows me he didnt look at it i dont do that to people that i review and i dont expect it to be done to me and lr needs to corrct the problem i follow the rules and they should be made to follow them as well

Brian,Doc, Joe, Sarah, Stevie C, Tiger, SurfTiger, Needy and a host of other names all are the same individual. He is known by all as the LR Troll. Your point is LR members are not following the rules and guidelines. Mark the review to private. Go one step further and look at the reviewer's profile. See if the last five reviews have been similiar - that is the reviewer has been doing the same to other members as they did to you. If so, then copy and paste the profile into a note and point this out to LR administration along with the request to have it removed.

Interestin posts a few things i was not aware of. Its clear that LR is a great site that has helped me alot and also that other spammers are prepared to be a pain, I think LR are trying to keep the wole situation under control without restricting the site unduly.

Stephen C - did you forget to take your meds today ? Sure are cranky !Your reply is irrelevant to the OP's question. And you are 100% wrong. If you receive a nonsense or spammy review, the administrator Mike will remove that review, if you bring it to his attention. To the OP : No you are not allowed to spam a review. It can get your membership canceled if someone turns you in.

Hi Brian,It can take up to 7-10 days before LR Mike will delete the review and send you an email/response. When it comes to Stephen C and ALL his alias's, just ignore him. After awhile he and his alias's are very easy to spot in the forums, since he is usually very mean spirited and it shows in his replies. Now, every once in awhile he will play nice. I believe those very infrequent " nice" times are when there is a Full Blue Moon out, lol !

anyone using link referral should have enough decency about them to look at the site they are reviewing and give the score that it should get and not just a number. always remember, these folks have the same right to review your site and do the same. we are all in this togather, so lets treat the next person with the same respect we want.

Brian, Like the others have said if you have reported it to Mike he will look into it but it does take a little while. I just received a Email about someone I reported which Mike looked into this person's account has been terminated and reviews wiped. So it does work reporting things to Mike just be patient.

to a certain degree it's just like putting a generic review like nice layout or excellent content, which pretty much doesn't mean anything. although putting one's website or name on the review is just plain foul and we should find a way to stop that, because most if not all of us actually do take the time to read and internalize the reviews.

LR do mot allow it and do act against poeple who spam and do stupid review i have seen this recently. The difficult thing is that people who do these stupid reviews offen will just pop up under another site. I would like to see a system to organnise our favourite sites, it would make it easier to use them

ok this is an update mike sent me an email and said he wiped the review so i sent one back and asked him what is going to stop him from doing this to someone else so ill let you all know what he writes back we got to stick together on this to make sure we get the right reviews that were looking for and thats the truth about what find and what they think bout our site so we can do some improvements if needed

I have complained about this before as I have 3 accounts with LR yet it still keeps happening. Reviews I have received just copied and pasted my text. It needs to be strictly monitored. I always give detailed honest reviews and it is not fair.

Hi Michelle, this must be frustrating for you I get this too. I do know that LR act when you repot it so do this as it helps tidy up thise who are being a pain.Unfortunatly there are a few that spoil it for the rest, but remember they are in the minority.

I wrote my first review today and the further along the shopping/crafts list I got, the more weird stuff was going on at the sites I visited. I had blank screens and reported a couple of shops that have since ceased trading... Still this looks to be a useful exercise, so I'll be back again tomorrow! =) |

The further back you go in the search results you get to pages where people are not working actively on LF and are more likely to be discarded, keep to the first say 7 pages of search results

The structure as you know is this.Visit 30 sites and review five.If you want a review,make sure the summary says something interesting.If your site is one of those html things that want you to sign up to mlm or other internet business stuff,the chances of meaningful reviews are remote,since you do not have general content that might interest people.

I got a reply from Mike and he suspended only 1 out of 3 copy/paste reviews I had received. Yet I still get reviews that have no relevance or meaning to the content of my site. I am wondering what the point if this is.

LR walks a fine line between dealing with unfair reviews and putting people off who while not delivering the best reviews are still learning.While this is not perfect the longer you stay commited the more you will see that the majority of good people here will really help you and stupid reviews are just a very small problem.

I agree.. I'm new to selling online & wasn't quite sure of its value. For me its definitely the feedback that's been a positive. Traffic's nice, but it's other people interested in promoting their site... not people specificly looking for my product. However, if your site catches someone's attention it my be in their mind when they need your service or product & come back to it. I guess that's the idea. My LR confession.... i have had people join my site from here i dont think the topic is about how good lr is its about people who dont really look at your site is the problem and give you a review thats not even relevant to your site if there was a way tp rid these people this site lr would be the best site ive seen on the web to promote but i guess every site has their problems

You smart for only reviewing sites you like. Within LR there is a certain group of members who get even by reviewing your site with a low score. The majority of problems are the spammers who consistantly hand out low scores without even looking at the site. Very often they only copy and past their urls into the review. Whenever this happens, the member who received the spam review needs to look at the member profile. If you see the last five reviews being copy and paste or all are spam, simply copy and paste the last 5 review information into the text box in Contact Admin at the top of the this page. INclude some detail in requesting the spam review removal.
