depends upon what you mean by "modernize" However, I update my site very often as the content and ads change on a daily or monthly bases.

Viewed the Money Making category. Most of the sites did not load. Quite a few appeared incomplete. Noticed a few were knock-offs of currently popular social media sites. Also, noticed the importance of maintaining a great concept by also maintaining the consumer appeal through a current visual, graphical appearance that represents the concept online to internet surfers. 'Canned', unoriginal marketing notions just to attempt to sell a product or service is misleading and uninteresting.

If you choose to create a mobile version of your site, be sure to have a mobile site for testing.

Use unique fonts/design styles for your content to make it stand out. The simpler the better usually! And also don't forget to add social networking buttons if applicaible. These are a must to improve your reach to customers.
