"Google Versus Traffic Exchanges.... We would be interested in hearing from anyone who has used a manual or auto traffic exchange and has had their Google Adsense Account closed due to illegal clicks."

I am not sure that this site violates google adsense polocies. It is not an auto surf, Where a site is put on a rotater and shown again and again. People must chose to look at a site, and then if they want write a reveiw. I can not see where this would be inturpeted by google as invalid impressions. Auto surf you have no choice in what you see or how many times you see it. If google is telling you about invalid impressions and clicks ask the to please tell you from what source they are comming from. Maybe its becouse some people are just clicking on your site and closeing as soon as it opens.

Maybe we all should get a spare Adsense account created in advance? Just in case the rug ever gets pulled on our present accounts, for whatever reason.

I don't know what the Google TOS says about multiple accounts - but at the very least my wife could have her own as well, and my company, and presumably in various countries with separate local Google subsidiaries.

Longer term, the solution must be to rely less on Google and add alternatives to the page like Kontera, plus Affilate/CPA links. They also pays better, although Adsense is the baseline to establish first. Steve

I just received my notice from Google adsense about invalid impressions. I don't understand their policy whatsoever. I don't have my website on any paid to click or auto exchange but I did have it listed here until a few minutes ago. According to the forum link referral is against their policy. I'm not sure having google adsense is either worth the time and aggravation. It seems like it hinders any promotion of your website unless of course you spend money using their advertising PPC. I'm very disappointed.

That leaves us in a shaky position never knowing what Google knows and always being at their mercy!!!

Sometimes Google can get it wrong and ban someone from their scheme who are innocent. Once Google ban you from Adsesne it is could be very difficult to prove your innocence and get accepted back onto the scheme.

Still waiting to hear from google! I read a little bit about it (invalid clicks) webmasterworld.com today. Apparently google isn't all that forthcoming with help when someone wants to be pro-active and make sure everything is being done correctly (I'm trying!).

Hi,

I'm not involved in any auto surf exchanges, but I actually received an email from adsense last night pertaining to some form of illegal clicks on my page. Needless to say I was not happy and immediately contacted them. I'm still awaiting a response.

The only thing I could think of was that I recently joined link referral, but as stated above, there's no reason a manual exchange should count. I'll update once they get back to me!! Their initial email did state that I may want specifics but that it's all calculated through algorithms ---so I'm waiting to see if they can give me some better explanation than that...we'll see...

Hi there, this is also the interesting answer that I am trying to get. Just go to any auto surf and see the sites on rotation. You will notice that there are a lot of sites with google adsense advertisement. And after a few weeks, you go back and check, the same site with the same google adsense advertisement still there. What does this mean? Come & share your view..

I would think that autosurf certainly fails under/against thier terms for automation.

Manual traffic exchanges however should not be. I have heard stories about this as well.

The best place to ask is perhaps webmasterworld.com.

A few people from Google hang out there from time to time and it would be nice to get a straight answer.
