It is like a catch 22 - While reciprocal links do nothing to help your PR#, nor your SERP position, if the reciprocal links are non-relevant, or are bad links including having bad links pointing to that reciprocal link, it can/may hurt your site's SERP position. The other problem with reciprocal links is, if you have to many, then the SE's see it as link farming - which is really bad. Think I'm lying? Don't listen to the troll and follow these simple steps..

Go to co.cc and create a free domain, point it at your server with DNS, and install a CMS of some kind that uses XML sitemaps.

( I.E.. 4images php gallery, wordpress, drupal, etc..)

Submit that sites XML (RSS FEED) to Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Sit back and enjoy your SERP's.

(Some people call this doorway pages)

Google uses a point system so using directories and no index meta tags probably contributes about (1) overall point to your website on a (3) point scale.

The thing there not saying is that sites like Alexa, Yahoo, and Bing still use the old style of SEO. You can't just optimize your site for one search engine because not everyone use just Google.

Let Google deal with their spam issue's, you alredy know your site is not spam...
