Do you believe your review scores and does this relate to your site performance

"Seriously, do you really believe the scores as compared to the results you site gets.

Let take an example - this site was useful good design and totaly good.

what was the score -

The color scheme is really off- kind of hurts my eyes to look at it. The content is not too exciting. Although I am on a fast connection, this site didn't load up too quickly

what was the score -

Images and information were clear in this terrific shop selling art images on products. I liked the wonderful go green images. The site was easy to navigate. A wonderful site

what was the score -

Did the score help or did the score hurt - what about the words chosen - did they help or did they hurt

I know I get tired sometimes and I forget to remember that the site I am looking at is someone's personal baby - and there are no ugly babies - we all know that.

I ask for forgiveness for those laps - I will try to remember that all have rights - rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness - and most of all a right to their opinion

So, do the scores matter -

Please, voice your opinion on how we can be fair and helpful to one another -

I have learned a lot about my site and about the site of others by being involved here at LinkReferral - a lot of great ideas - hope you find some ideas here that you can use too. - Health, Happiness, Peace, and Positive Perspective - IMHO >> In My Humble Opinion - The MUSEUM, Zazzle"

You hit the nail on the head when you said that these sites are everyone's personal babies. As for the actual score of a site, while in theory it shouldn't matter, it does to many. There are several posters around the forums that clearly state their angst when they see these posts, but they are entitled to their opinion. What I do find bothersome is the way in which some people communicate their dislike and distaste. We're supposed to be professional business people. I would never ever respond to a customer who didn't like something the way in which some people voice their opinions here in the forums.

So, no, the score doesn't matter. I have yet to hear one of my internet customers saying they didn't like the lay out of my site, or the colors, or they wish it was arranged differently.

The customers are the ones with the opinions that I care about - and frankly, they are the ones that are most satisfied with my site. My site is for them - not for some other webmaster.

I think I'm going to have to agree with kozziebear I don't particularly like the way some people voice their dislikes on this website. However, some of the comment are really helpful and I rarely looks at the rating anymore.

Well said Marie !!!

It should matter what YOUR customer thinks, not what other webmasters think.

In the time I have been on LR, if I took even 1/2 the advice given to me based on reviews, my site would look like hog wash ! For some odd reason, way to many LR webmasters base a review for another member on their personal preferences. Personal preferences have no basis in a professionally written review. Giving someone a low score because they do not like the color scheme, layout or the product is way out of line. LOL, you know how many times I have been given a 5 score because that reviewer doesn't like dogs !

What is even funnier in a review is when that reviewer states I will never have customers or my site is not SE friendly. Now they are clueless !

I feel that members should be able to rate what they feel about that site (even under 5) and not be threatened to be penalized or suspended

I'm sure the intent behind that was to put a stop to retaliatory reviews.

I believe LR Mike (admin) was merely stating those would be reviewed, and IF NOT WARRANTED, then action would be taken.

It rather depends on what you are about. Most people here are trying to sell something.Thet fail miserably because their posts are uninteresting and too product focused.Their spelling is awful and they don't post items that capture people. For example it is nearly impossible to review sites under the business heading because they are so dull.I've even received reviews from this section where they clearly haven't looked at my site and are just trying to promote some unoriginal rubbish.

Very well said Marie. But, I would like to add, if I may, the way I look at the less than perfect reviews is: if one person says they don’t like something about your site, or you need to change something about your site, it can be ignored., but if many say the same thing, then it is time to separate yourself from your site and try to take a look at what they might be seeing. That is, if it pertains to layout and content. This is what I do, and it has worked out well for me. Sometimes one can defend and coddle there babies to the point of destruction.

Yes but that is also personal opinion. We can not go around changing our sites because one person does not like something. Not everyone will agree on everything. When some one says, "I don't like that", well it is personal opinion and it should have no place in a review. People really have gotten far away from the quality of reviews we once had here.

We even have people with no SEO knowledge giving advice on SEO here now. Saying all you need to do is get links and you will be at the top of google.

I have been checking out the reviews on my site and I appreciate all the comments more than the scores themselves. I have been trying to be honest in my reviews of other sites. Hopefully people are being accurate on how they review your site
