Content really is king. Post original articles where ever you can with links back to your site. ezinearticle is great for getting your work splashed over the internet. Once you have written an article make the most of it. Read it whilst filming yourself and post it on You Tube, with a link back to your site. Create a podcast of the same material. All of this really boosts your page ranking.

What are meta tags? They are information inserted into the "head" area of your web pages. The most valuable feature they offer the web site owner is the ability to control to some degree how their web pages are described by some search engines. I learned a lot through trial and error. I've been selling online just about a year now. When I started, I didn't know squat about SEO, but I read and learned-and rewrote descriptions and titles many times. They could still be tweaked some, but for now, I'm happy where I come up in google. I make sure I include handmade in either my title or my first sentence. Then, what it is-necklace, earrings or whatever, then the stone name if I have used a stone. In my case, a lot of people search by color, so that's included, too. I learned that if you put yourself in the searcher's place and title and describe your product that way, google likes it. |
