Exchange links are hard work and sometimes frustrating, but first hand I can tell you they do work. Now the first thing to do is workout which key words best suite your site, for example: what words do you want people to find your web site under. I first started by using my site url, which is no good as next to no one will know the site so they won't be searching the text of the url. You will need some sort of descriptive text like Free Givesaways(http://www.myfriendshangout.com/giveaways-2) which describes what the site is about. If you are trying to promote a small business which is confined to a local area use the suburb names where your clientele will come from as they are the people who will be looking for your business or service after you have mastered this you may want to target the state and so on. Next you will need to find websites that this text can be placed on. You can find relevant sites by doing a simple search in your friendly search engine and to go one step further there is software that can analyze this for you, this can save time and get better results. There are many sites that offer link exchange services but be care-full as some of these site will have your site penalized for using these sites. Pages that have a common interest as your site give a better score than irrelevant sites, the same as sites that have higher page rank score better. Having said this it appears that nearly any link is worth something just may not be very much. So the best way to start is to write some articles and submit to sites like http://www.myfriendshangout.com/apps/blog/, if submitting to a number of sites slightly change the content for a better result. Forums(http://www.myfriendshangout.com/apps/forums/) and blog's also can be other ways of getting links out there, here it is important to keep to relevant sites as the title of the page has an impact on how well the link is scored. Lastly e-mail relevant sites and ask for a link exchange, form a relation-ship with these sites and become an authority on your topic. This is a business relationship and should be treated as such. Try and make this point to your fellow link exchangers so they let you know if things change. On my website I have a page, http://www.myfriendshangout.com/links where interested parties can send me a message saying they are interested in setting up an exchange with my site. This is a great way to find people who are actively looking to improve there web site ranking with the search engines. www.myfriendshangout.com

This is a great link exchange. They have over 2 million members. The site is ranked #713 globally and ranked #529 in the US. Another thing get paid to advertise your website. Each adpack is $10 that gives you 1000 clicks in the traffic exchange. The first adpack is free the Company gives you the first $10 with their Pay-it-Forward program. Each adpack earns you a daily commission of $0.20 on weekdays and $0.10 on weekends. I love it. For me it is a WIN WIN situation because I make money off my website and I make money by advertising my business to their 2+million members. http://www.profitclicking.com/?r=ericgrice
