It can slowly build traffic, but the good thing about YouTube is once the video's made and uploaded, you can forget about it and it can still bring traffic in years down the track. I use a youtube video on my site to showcase my jewellery, particularly for a good visual effect.

Interesting question. I've been on LR for over a year and just the other night I watched a video for the first time on an LR member's site. For a lot of us, we don't have the time or just don't want to take the time to watch a video. I hope lots more people respond as I'm interested in their answers. :-)

My wife works for an ecommerce store and they do those types of video quite often and have great success with it. I haven't done it yet but why not give it a shot. Once you make it and post it you don't have to do anything else but track the visitors.

I use youtube cuttsy1970, I don't get many visits from there but any one of them can make me a sale. So if it brings you just 5 visits a month, it all counts an it don't cost you a penny.
