Google Adsense Users Better Read This

"I got in trouble with Google Adsense for using Link Referral pointing to my blog that I had Adsense content on. I think LinkReferral is a great asset to anyone wanting hits on their website but if you use adsense, Beware. I shut all my blogs down with adsense on them. "

This article was published in 2013 and since then there are many changes carried out by AdSense. I’ll be updating this post soon.

No doubt, Google adsense is one of the best way to make money from website. But I am not using it anymore.

things have gotten even tougher - google will lower pr if adsense script is found in the top fold (so keep it below the fold) and if google see's linkreferral, they think it is link farming and you could be removed from google search (and bing or yahoo) if there are any ties to linkreferral. so be careful.

Yep! This is simply covered in their TOS. I don't understand why they make it so difficult for us to make money when all we all do is generate quality views of ads

i wish i could get to the point of getting enough money to withdraw, to see if i even have any problems... maybe someday.

**remember google see's link referral as link farming - also, read "What is LinkReferral?" ... it clearly states that this is an alternative to major search engines. good luck everyone.

Google Adsense can just be an absolute nightmare, i had a site that started a few years ago.

I was making just like ?30 a month and then obviously you need ?60 to withdraw so i wasn't making that much at all and then it started picking up and as soon as i start making like ?300 a month apparently my site isn't good enough for them anymore lol.

I don't mean the site i have on my LinkReferral i don't use Google anymore.

I have never had any problem with Google Adsense because of link referral .

I made it to the $100 dollar mark and was denied because of "invalid" clicks from a traffic referral site! i.e. Link Referral

I havent recieved any warnings either and Ive been using adsense for a year.

If you drive traffic to your adsense site through unconentional means and Google does not contact you, it is probably because you have not made much money from Adsense. The moment your income starts to grow, they will beam their search light on your site and will ban you if certain activities are discovered.

I have googled this topic before. You cannot use google adsense when you are using link referral. Sorry, maybe some have just been lucky and not been found but google will sooner or later catch up. Just a friendly warning. I suppose we all have to choose one or the other.

I am afraid that Google adsense are the big brother and you do have to be very careful. If LR were the only site you were using I would be very surprised to receive that letter as I see they don't mention LR directly. Are you sure there is no other site causing the problem

Kind Regards

I've been doing some reading and people are saying they got banned for one ad click from linkreferral. This worries me. Would using a .tk domain safeguard this? In blogger for example, it says the traffic comes from the .tk domain instead of linkreferral. I'm wondering how far google goes to trace traffic.

Adsense is extremely strict with its regulations. You really need to read the rules to make sure they don't deem your sight "risky" and take away any money you earn. Contextweb has been a good alternative advertising company for my site.

I'm not too worried, but I'll definitely be researching this. It probably depends on the percentage of your clicks coming from something like linkreferral compared to search traffic and forums, etc.

As long as you only use Linkreferral for its intended purpose (referring and reviewing other's websites), then you should have no problem with Google Adsense. Utilize Linkreferral for its other intended uses as outlined in the FAQ's. Follow their terms of service and follow the rules of Linkreferral and the two will live in harmony. Start auto-surfing or other illegal activities and you can expect to be banned.

I'm with you as long as you are not violating their TOS you'll be fine. Don't be posting messages asking people to click your links and most of all don't be telling people in your same IP block, ie, your household or office to check out your site and your google ads, you are asking for trouble. However, that being said, if you can gather the traffic, good and proper traffic the kind where people actually read your schtick then you might want to also partnering with Linkshare.com as they don't have that thing about illegitmate clicks in their TOS. As they work differently, you don't get paid unless your customer actually buys something vs google ads where you get paid when a click is generated. Another thing you might want to consider is add the nofollow attribute to all of your google adsense as you don't want some asinine robot click ing the ads as would happen in an autosurfer.

Adsense is really strict with its regulations. I was considered a "risky" partner and had my account disabled as a result. I never clicked on any ads so I don't really understand why. The appeal didn't work either.

I really wish I had read this before now. I was removed from Google Adsense today due to this. It really doesn't matter from the standpoint of losing money from them because I really hadn't earned anything. But it does bother me that I've been learning about how SEO etc. works and I had planned to work on Adsense too. I'm so new to blogging and trying to learn about SEO etc. I'm sort of lost on options now. Does anyone have advice on this matter?

I've never had that problem, and I've been with Google Adsense for almost 2 years.

Just wait...as soon as enough LR members start clicking onto your google ads, your account will be closed...

I have seen it happen over and over again on LR...many, many members have been banned...

Just because you have been a LR member and have been using adsense for two years, does not mean that you will not be caught...you just have not had enough 3rd party clicks from LR as of yet to have your account closed...

Once you get banned you are banned for life from Google Adsense...that also means you will not be able to use it for other urls, new or old.

Googles TOS specifically states that you can not use 3rd parties for adsense traffic...and ANY traffic site including LR generates 3rd party clicks.

A real no brainer !

Don't believe me then go to the Google Forums and ask them...lol, you won't be the first, nor last LR member to ask that question about LR and Adsense...the answer is always the same...NO!

:))))

I got yanked from Adsense too. This was what they sent me:

After reviewing our records, we've determined that your AdSense account

poses a risk of generating invalid activity. Because we have a

responsibility to protect our AdWords advertisers from inflated costs due

to invalid activity, we've found it necessary to disable your AdSense

account. Your outstanding balance and Google's share of the revenue will

both be fully refunded back to the affected advertisers.

Please understand that we need to take such steps to maintain the

effectiveness of Google's advertising system, particularly the

advertiser-publisher relationship. We understand the inconvenience that

this may cause you, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and

cooperation.

Google Adsense is easy to use, and there is not much complication in it. Their rules are simple and straight forward. There has never been a clash between linkreferral and Google adsense so far according to me, but you sure have something to say.
