I find that if you keep your keywords short and to the point, of course ones that are relevent to your site they work better. You also do not require hundreds of keywords five is normally enough

i like the reply that one person gave about talking with friends and family ... it's good to get feedback from others and use the keywords "naturally" ... as if you were talking to someone. ... also, they said check what your competitors keywords are... that's good too.

Ask friends, family and co-workers to search for your site in google, using their own words, and then take note of the successful ones. Also, track your competitors and the keywords required to find them.

Keywords are important, good content is even more important, especially for repeat visitors. Grammar, spelling and punctuation must be correct to present a professional appearance.

What are good keywords........??

AHAH.

Well it's simple. Any Direct(common) word(s) that someone would type in google to look for something would be a good one.

Here, I'll give you an example:

Dinosaurs -----Huge google searches

Dinosaur facts -----pretty good

Jurassic Park --------Pretty good

Triassic period -------not bad

The dinosaurs of the cretaceous period -----junk

It all depends on what your site is. If you are selling something than probably the best keyword in the world would be....

"{your product} For sale"

But the better the keyword, the more the competitors who will eat you alive when you try to beat them.

Yes, buying keywords help but you do have to buy a heavy amount to make an impact and get into that keyword.

Priceless advice, for free.

I tried the whole keyword purchase thing, when I first went online several years ago, but that ended pretty quickly when I realized it was getting me nowhere any faster than what I could do on my own. You should also beware of anyone that promises you first rank status in the search engines. This is not something that anyone can guarantee, unless you’re willing to pay a whole lot of dollars to rank that high. Good Luck!

I can help you rank on the first page for free!

The more unique your keyword, the higher you rank for that keyword. If you are the only one using a specific keyword/phrase, then you will be on the first page when that keyword/phrased is searched for.

Example search:

money -

About 3,330,000,000 results (0.21 seconds)

making money -

About 1,390,000,000 results (0.26 seconds)

making money in any economy -

About 1,480,000,000 results (0.36 seconds)

"making money in any economy" -

About 89,200 results (0.24 seconds)

If you find the most unique key-phrase for your niche content, you will be on the first page when it is searched. If there is a lot of people doing a search on that exact phrase, say with quotes around it, you will get a lot of traffic.

However, it works best if your key words and phrases are well blended into your content without "keyword stuffing".

Most of the search engines either don't look at the meta tag "Keyword" or give very little weight to them because they can be used to fool people about the content of the site.

However, keywords are very important in the content of your site. you cannot buy key words for this to work. Your content has to be developed around keywords that are of interest to a large number of visitors - and your content should support those keywords.

Keywords are the words that are used to reveal the internal structure of an author's reasoning. Thus, they are an essential part of any language, specially the content of your website.

Your visitors are searching for specific keywords. If your content is centered around these keywords, then you will win the trust of your visitors.

It is this trust that will cause your visitors to buy from you!

Very well said!

Keywords are great and can get you a ton of traffic.

Personally, I didn't buy mine. Instead I did research and came up with good ones then made my site fit them all by myself. It takes time especially if you have a big site, but it is doable and worth it.

Gary, that is a great answer - which I agree totally. I don't buy keywords either.

It does not take long to rank high in Google with the right keywords (without buying keywords). If you write your content to address as many of the concerns one may search for in your given topic, then your site will be keyword rich and rank high on the first page of the search terms in question.

You only want keyword specific for your website content. I recommend using a blog site like Blogspot or Wordpress because they rank quick on the search engines. Organic searches will bring you the best customers/buyers plus it's FREE!

Definitely, keywords work and Google makes fortune from them; however for the average online marketer, the way forward with keywords is the organic one's. Nevertherless if you have the budget, paid keywords if they are relevants to the website or business could get you a good ROI.

I think his/her site should not be damdhoom(dotcom), instead should be........

dhamdhoomdotcom

See, I nailed the missing link :-)

Still pretty bad if you put up a bad link. He/she has had since 2007 to correct the problem...they posted their reply in 2007 and have been a member since 2007.

Soooo....doubt they have come back to this LR post for an answer to their question...it has been 5 years.....

Yes they work to a degree. I use them more for the search links that they create. Which is vital.

But I do get sales from my click throughs.

There are some excellent free sites that will create the best search words for you. I use them to create mine. Seems to be paying off for me. But business did not start over night. I have been at this particular site since 2003. Longivity is vital to success also. It takes time for search engines to move you up in listings.
