Navigation right side or left side or both

"I would like to hear from as many as possible on their opinion about navigation positions and types of navigation; such as drop down menus and regular links

thanks"

My content is on the left, navigation the right, seems to be a comfortable layout.

I placed all my navigation links on the right side several months ago and it seems to work better with the main content on the left side - I get more and better responses to my content with the content being the first thing people read now.

My blog has content on the left and navigation information on the right. Seems a natural fit for reading.

Thanks for the responses.

I have my main nav (the links that appear on each page) on the left and my sub nav on the right (the links for the specific group).

I prefer the navigation on the left. It does feel natural to read it this way. The footer links at the bottom of the page work for navigation too.

Navigation should be on the left hand side of a webpage.

The left side is an automatic response to the majority of users on the internet. Reason for that is, English is the standard for international IT...when reading English you read from the left to the right...so it becomes an automatic response for most internet users to look to the left first. Not right and not up. It's a "brain thang". Some users get confused when they have to look for navigation that is up or on the right.

And no, it has nothing to do with a person being right or left handed. It has everything to do with your brain response to language.

;))))

I think navigation should go on the Left side. It feels more natural. Usually it depends on what hand a person uses but left is usually the best way

I have simple navigation on the top and a complex drop down navigation on the left. I would love to put navigation the right and left but that just takes up to much space.
