Use Google adwords Keyword planner tool for your keyword research and also some other tools like, uber suggest, Ahrefs and etc.

Plan the keyword density and write the content which is about 1000+ words long.

Hey, Start with keyword research before you start with content. Choose medium priority and High volume keywords. Also search long tail keywords. Use it wisely in your content. Put your targeted keyword in first 100 words.

Now, after creating a page, do not simply sit. Promote your website. Build links to your website. Ask your content relevant website owners to link to your website. This give page trust and authority on your website.

Following these might bring your website on the top for the specific keyword. Remember to use top priority keyword in the title, description, url, H1 and in the content.

Thank you

I use several tools to evaluate key words for articles---the Google Keyword Planner tool (you need a Google account to access it), and Semrush.com. Google is obviously valuable because they are the leader in internet search. Semrush is a great resource for discovering everything about a key word: amount of traffic, ranking, value, etc.

Enter one keyword per line in the first box, the domain/website to test in the second box, select the boxes for which search engines you want to check, select which page range you want to check, then click on “Check Position” and watch the tool do its thing!

figure out your keywords, use them wisely - describe your product or service or whatever, as if you were talking to someone... make it look "natural" ... don't do keyword stuffing.

Select proper keywords which you want to target

Use Google keyword tools for best keyword suggetions

At first don't use most competitive keywords as it will take time to come in SERPs. So choose medium or low competition keywords then go for the most competitive keywords.

Also see what keywords your competitors are using.

The best way to get SERPs is to include your keywords in title, descriptions.

Do white hat SEO activities and off page submissions

This way you will surely get good ranking for your targeted keywords.

I will give you my secrets:

1. Search and make a list of non competitive keywords.

2. Set up a blog and start writing content using these keywords throughout.

3. Drive links back to your site every day. It's best to get 20-30 links a day and do it consistently rather than using a mass service.

4. Make sure you have a google webmaster account and google analytics set up.

keyword ranking where your site is ranked in search engines for a keyword has a major impact on your Web traffic, lead generation and conversions. Research shows that almost half of all search engine users click on a result on the first page, and the higher you rank on that search engine result page.

If you pay, make sure it is in the form of SEO mentoring. With SEO mentoring you actually learn the proper way to optimize your site and have full control of what is done and happens to your site.

Paying someone else to do the SEO is not much help since SEO is a constant thing...has to be done a few times a year.

Pam is absolutely correct! Get SEO training so you learn it properly, then YOU have control of your website. The best thing is, you can then apply your knowledge to other sites that you may want to build in the future. The problem with a traditional SEO company is that you have no control and you are at their mercy even after you achieve high SERP.

I can make some recommendations if you're interested in learning SEO. I will not spam the forum with my suggestions. If you have any questions or want more information, please feel free to ask. Good Luck!

High SERP for keywords is EXTREMELY important! Yes, you have a very distinctive name for your website. That being said, the ONLY people that will find you on Google are those that look for YOUR site specifically. You have NO meta information for Google to index you well for what your site is actually about. You are missing out on tons of traffic from the search engines because you are relying ONLY on people coming to your site that already know the name.

The goal is to get NEW visitors to your site to increase your base. You get that through visitors from the search engines. You need to optimize your site for what it is about, then you can get page 1 rankings for terms like "free events in NYC" Once you get that, you will have MUCH more traffic.

Make sense? If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Absolutely !!!!

100 % correct.....

you have to use the google keyword tool to check exact matches. anything below 20,000 searches is a no-go area, then the competition is another thing

anything above 200,000 pages would waste your energy, conduct your research on an optimal keyword first.

Proper SEO is the ONLY way to achieve high SERP, and although it is the "long way" as you refer to, it has much better results than posting ads.

People that do a keyword search on a search engine and find a website are ALREADY looking for what that site is offering. Obviously, this is better than throwing an ad out there to the masses that you have NO idea if the audience is even interested in.

Page 1 SERP for keywords is the best place to be. It will bring customers and sales daily.

James' answer is 100% correct.

You need to properly optimize the keywords in your content, alt tags, and meta's for a page one serp placement of keywords.

That involves doing good SEO.

First optimize your titles, get good keyword density, about 1%, in your blogposts.

If you're using Google Keyword tool, look for exact searches of 1600 or more if you can.

The other key is getting a lot, and I mean a lot of backlinks.

You can do this with press releases, article submission to several directories, pinging your blog, creating videos that anchor to your site, submitting to RSS.

If you've got $5, check out Fiverr and have the people there do it for you.

Especially if there's a guy who can SENuke.
