Is Windows 7 The Best Windows Ever?

"From technology enthusiasts to the average Joe running Windows, everyone was looking at Microsoft for the past 2 years, their hopes gathered around a simple name: Windows 7. There are many reasons why this version of Windows was sought after, not the least being the public relations nightmare brought by Vista."

I expected to see more MS haters on this thread :)

I personally have no real issue with MS products, but really think XP was the best OS they had. Maybe I did get a little cranky when I got stuck with ME :)

Vista has been nice to me, and by the time I get 7 it will probably be on its second service pack, so I hope to continue to see goodness!

Looks like people are really happy with Windows 7 so far.

Remember when I first installed Windows Vista on my Windows XP laptop that I'd purchased withe the upgrade. I had SO MANY problems that eventually I had to unistall Vista and reset it to factory settings. That was after an engineer from Dell had come out twice to try and fix the problem...

I got a Windows 7 laptop a couple of weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. Much happier than with Vista, that's for sure. They've made life a lot easier with some gadgets and it loads quicker too. Cannot comment in detail yet as I haven't had it for that long. Thumbs up so far!

Thanks Pam. Looks like I'll be investing in Windows 7 very soon. Can't wait to get rid of Vista....it has been such a disaster!!

LOL, Mary, I stuck with Windows XP for as long as I could. Refused to do the Vista thingie. Saw way to many complaints about Vista so I just trudged on with XP. In November of this year I was more or less forced into the Windows 7 since I needed a new 'puter. Had to choose from a Windows 7 computer or an unaffordable Mac - glad I made the Windows 7 choice.

I use Windows 7 and have not had any problems. Matter of fact I think it is excellent! It is fast and definitely has none of the major glitches that XP and Vista has. In the past two months Windows 7 has not crashed, frozen or has had any loading problems - not even once. Not everyone can afford a Mac. So Windows 7 is a great alternative.

I am very pleased and give microsoft a thumbs up for Windows 7!

Windows 7 is good for standard computers. On large rigs designed for gaming, not so much. I find that all the hardware has trouble being put together by Windows 7.

Besides that, no complaints :D

I have Vista, and I hate it. Seems like every time I turn around it has to update or either check to see why the Explorer wont work, the most of the time, message that cant' find any problems, then able to navigate. I understand that Windows 7 is better because of the graffics.Looking forward to trying it out.

I'm too nervous to find out!!! lol!

Since XP, it seems everything new they've put out has had many issues. I've heard absolutely nothing good about Vista, and I'm sure Windows 7 is trying to make up for that... but I'm not sure I'll be buying it quite yet!

I have never had any issues/problems with any of the Windows versions....and I've used them for years!!

Vista, on the hand, was a nightmare....we had no choice when we purchased our last laptop as it came with Vista. I don't know about a public relations nightmare, I only experienced a software nightmare, which is much worse. We've received lots of fixes from Microsoft and Vista is now more stable then it was. It is still a piece of GARBAGE!!!

Microsoft is trying to get back to what has worked well for them for years.....Windows...and I'll be in line waiting to get the new version!!

No, no and no. Windows in general fails. At everything. When they released Vista, that was their downfall. So they released 7 to try and make up for it. No. Simply, No.

I, too, am very leary.....not just with Windows 7. I'm seriously thinking of switching over to a Mac.
